MINISTER~ PARKWOODS UNITED CHURCH

|
Rev. Sarah was called as the Minister of Word, Sacrament and Pastoral Care to the Parkwoods congregation in August of 2005. A graduate of Emmanuel College in Toronto in 2001, Sarah holds both the traditional Master of Divinity degree, as well as a Master of Religious Education. Prior to her call to Parkwoods, Sarah served as minister for a two-point charge in Thamesford, Ontario (just outside of London) from 2001 to 2005. She has lived in many parts of Canada, including Vancouver, Oakville, Calgary, Ottawa, Hamilton, Ethelton, and London.
Sarah is most passionate about finding new ways to engage people in their relationship with God, and uses things such as Bible study, sermons, multi-media presentations, art, stitching and scrapbooking to articulate her faith, and tries to empower others to do the same.
Having been blessed as a student to have opportunities to preach, lead worship, and visit people in the congregations of some of her mentors, Sarah has the desire to ‘give back’ these opportunities to other students in the process towards ordination, commissioning and recognition. To that end, Sarah recently received recognition as an accredited supervisor, and is currently serving on her sixth discernment committee.
At the Presbytery level, Sarah serves on the Education and Students Committee, as well as being the recording secretary for
Toronto Don Valley Presbytery (to June, 2009).
On a personal note, Sarah is married to another clergy person, the Rev. John Crowdis, who serves the congregation of Clarkson
Road Presbyterian Church in Mississauga. They have one daughter, Megan, and four pets.
